Rainbow Gloves Pattern

As an update to the rainbow gloves I have now completed the pattern.  You can view the original post here.



Rainbow Gloves

Worked out so the rainbow pattern spreads evenly over 60 rows.  Follow pattern without colour changes for a basic fingerless glove. Make two.


Gauge: 

6 Stitches per inch on size 5 needles ( 3 3/4 mm) with Stockinette stitch

Materials:

One skein of each colour to the rainbow.  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple.  I used Red Heart soft yarn (gauge:17st x 23r = 4in(10cm) on size US 8/5mm needles)



Abbreviations:
K - knit
P - purl
K2tog – knit two together
KFB -
 knit 1 stitch in the front, then in the back

Wrist

Using purple CO 38 sts and join for working in the round
Row 1-10: Knit
Change to blue
Row 11-20: Knit
Change to green
Row 21-30: Knit
Change to yellow
Row 31-36: Knit

Shaping the Thumb

Row 37: Place marker, P1, KFB, KFB, P1, Place marker, Knit to end

Row 38: P1, K4, P1, Knit to end
Row 39: P1, K4, P1, Knit to end
Row 40: P1, KFB, Knit to last st, KFB, P1, Knit to end

Change to orange and repeat last 3 rows until there are 14 sts between markers (Row 49)
Row 50: P1, K12, Place last 12 sts on stitch holder, Knit to end, CO 2
Change to red
Row 51- 60: Knit to end
Bind off

Thumb

Using red yarn, pickup 12 sts from stitch holder, 2 sts from the side, and the 2 CO sts from row 50, join for working in the round
Row 1 – 5: Knit to end
Bind off
