Fisher cable hat

Whew, this one tops off my Christmas knitted list.  Tops off because it's a hat!

As you may have noticed I am a big fan of cables.   One day when perusing through patterns, I found one for  a cabled hat.   It definitely caught my eye.

I`m starting to get more and more into playing with different colours in my projects.  I really liked the way the  break in the cables fit perfectly with a colour change.

That wraps up my holiday gifts.  I`ve got some pretty exciting projects up and coming.  I`ll be showcasing a bunch of projects I`ve wanted to do for so quite some time.  And I must say, they`re looking pretty wicked!

Seven and Zero

Whew, it`s been a busy week for me!  I have the makings of an etsy store, now I just need to fill it with stuff.    I`ll have a few projects that have already been features in my blog.  As well as some exciting new ones I`ve been working on.  I spent a wonderful time in my friend`s studio taking some wicked pictures.  And am more or less trying to get all the behind-the-sceens work done.  But for now there are still a few gifts I made for Christmas to share!

This is a pattern I found on Ravelry by designer Caitlin Ffrench.  I was captivated by her designs.  Her pictures are really inspiring and she makes all of her knitting look so good.  For a Christmas gift I picked out one of her patterns, Seven and Zero, and gave it a shot.

Knitted ipad/netbook cozy

Right, so I have this tiny little laptop.  It serves me well and can go pretty well anywhere.  But I don't have a very nice case for it.  My dad had also mentioned, sometime before Christmas, that he had an ipad without a case.  Perfect, now I had some real motivation.

I went out and picked up this nice multi-hued yarn, (because I couldn't see my dad walking around with a neon bright ipad case) and started working.  

It's a really classy pattern, (I think cables are classy) and its knit in the round so there's not much to sew on.  Except of course the button.  I would suggest making two button-holes, on either side.  Rather then the single button in the middle.  That way the corners of the flap won't stick up.

All in all another very successful project!

Around the House Slippers

Every Christmas (or, more so winter) we would get a bunch of hand knit slippers from my Nana.  They were always a big hit and my mom loved them.  For a few years now I've taken on the task of knitting some slippers for my mom. But I always ran into troubles. This year I found the perfect pattern.  It was easy to follow and I finally saw it through.
